Burzum is Varg "Count Grishnack" Vikernes. The project was formed in Norway as a Black Metal band part of the First Wave of Black Metal. Sound quality of Burzum has always been a large concern, but for those who love true black metal that is no problem at all. Created in '90, Vikernes blended the black metal style of Mayhem, from whom he had just departed, with his own style of music. To make a long story short, Varg was arrested for the murder of guitarist Euronymous (Mayhem) and was found guilty of murder and arsen. The latter is due to numerous churches he burned, six he was found guilty for, and was imprissoned for a 21 year jail sentence in 1993. He failed to parole in 2006, but his next attempt is April, 2008. Wish him luck. The autobiography of Burzum, along with Vikernes' numerous ther works are amazing textx, read them if you are a reader.
